Nami Figure: From “Help Me, Luffy” to a Life-Size Creation

One Piece is an anime filled with exciting battles and deeply moving stories. It contains many unforgettable events, including the Summit War of Marineford, the God Valley Incident, and the battle on Onigashima in the Land of Wano. Each battle carries a different scale and meaning. Some characters fight for their companions, some fight for freedom, and others try to change the fate of an entire country. That emotional connection later became the starting point for this Nami figure.

However, among all these classic stories, the battle at Arlong Park has always remained one of my favourites. It does not have a cast as large as the Summit War, nor does it feature as many powerful fighters as the battle on Onigashima, but it first helped me truly understand Nami.

When I was young, I even cried after hearing Nami shout, “Help me, Luffy.” Many years later, when I began creating this Nami figure, I still remembered that scene. I did not want to create only a female figure with orange hair and a sexy body. Instead, I wanted to recreate the Nami who had endured everything alone and finally found the courage to ask her companions for help.

I Once Thought Nami Had Really Betrayed Luffy

When I first started watching One Piece, I did not have an entirely positive impression of Nami. She was intelligent and understood navigation and weather, but she also cared deeply about money and often thought first about how to protect herself when danger appeared.

Later, she took the Going Merry, left Luffy and the others, and returned to Arlong. At the time, I knew nothing about her past. I only felt that she had deceived everyone and betrayed the trust Luffy had placed in her.

I could not even understand why Luffy still wanted to look for her.

Nami had already told them to leave and behaved as though she had never regarded them as companions. However, Luffy refused to judge her only by what he saw on the surface. Her departure did not make him reject her. Instead, he believed that she must have encountered a problem that she could not solve alone.

As the story continued, I finally understood that Luffy had seen much more than I had at the time. This part of her story later influenced how I wanted the Nami figure to express her character rather than only reproduce her appearance.

Nami Saved Money Desperately, but Not Because She Only Loved Treasure

Bell-mère Protected Nami and Nojiko

When Nami was young, Bell-mère adopted her and Nojiko. Although the family was not wealthy, the three of them shared a peaceful home. That peace ended when the Arlong Pirates arrived in Cocoyasi Village and demanded money from every resident. They threatened to kill anyone who could not pay.

Bell-mère did not have enough money to save herself and both children. She could have denied that Nami and Nojiko were her daughters, but she refused to abandon them. In the end, she gave Arlong the little money she had and sacrificed her own life to protect the two children.

Nami watched Bell-mère fall in front of her, and that pain remained with her for many years. Arlong later discovered Nami’s talent for drawing sea charts. He took her into the Arlong Pirates and forced her to create maps for them.

One Hundred Million Berries Represented Freedom

Nami did not genuinely want to work for Arlong. She made an agreement with him: if she could save 100 million berries, Arlong would sell Cocoyasi Village back to her.

From that moment on, she travelled from place to place and stole treasure from pirates, hiding every amount of money she collected. On the surface, it looked as though money was the only thing she cared about. In reality, that money represented freedom for the entire village.

She did not tell Luffy and the others the truth, nor did she share her pain with anyone. Nami wanted to complete the task alone because she did not want the villagers to suffer any further. She also wanted to keep the companions she had only recently met away from the danger created by Arlong.

Understanding this part of her past became important when I later created the Nami figure. Her love of money could not remain a simple visual joke because it came from years of trying to save the people she loved.

After Arlong Took Everything Away, Nami Finally Asked Luffy for Help

Arlong Destroyed Nami’s Last Hope

Nami spent many years saving money and eventually came close to collecting 100 million berries. She believed she was about to fulfil her agreement with Arlong and free Cocoyasi Village from his control.

However, Arlong had never intended to honour the agreement.

He secretly contacted Marine Captain Nezumi and arranged for the Marines to confiscate the money that Nami had worked so hard to save. They claimed that it was stolen property. Arlong avoided taking the money himself, which allowed him to pretend that he had not broken the agreement. Nevertheless, his plan completely destroyed the hope that Nami had built through years of hard work.

At that moment, she finally understood that no amount of effort would persuade Arlong to let her buy back the village.

The villagers had already discovered that Nami had endured everything for their sake. After seeing Arlong deceive her once again, they decided to take up their weapons and risk their lives fighting the Arlong Pirates. Nami knew that they could never defeat Arlong. She tried to stop them, but she no longer had any way to protect them.

“Help Me, Luffy”

In despair, Nami sat on the ground and repeatedly stabbed the mark of the Arlong Pirates on her arm. That mark represented the control she had endured for years and the past from which she could never seem to escape.

Luffy remained behind her.

At first, Nami refused to let him become involved and repeatedly told him to leave. However, after she had truly lost every possible solution, she finally cried and said:

“Help me, Luffy.”

When I watched that scene as a child, I could not stop myself from crying. Nami had always appeared intelligent and had always tried to solve every problem by herself. In that moment, however, she finally admitted that she needed help from her companions.

Luffy did not blame her for hiding the truth, nor did he demand an explanation. He simply removed his most precious straw hat, placed it on Nami’s head, and loudly promised to help her.

Then Luffy walked towards Arlong Park together with Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp. That emotional turning point remained one of the most important memories behind my Nami figure.

How Luffy and His Companions Helped Nami Defeat Arlong

Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp Faced the Arlong Pirates

After entering Arlong Park, Luffy and his companions began a direct battle against the Arlong Pirates. Nami had faced these enemies alone for many years, but now her companions willingly carried the burden with her.

Zoro still suffered from the serious injuries he had received during his battle with Mihawk, but he nevertheless stepped forward to fight the octopus fish-man Hatchan. Even when his wounds opened again, he refused to fall and eventually defeated his opponent.

Sanji fought the fish-man karate expert Kuroobi. His opponent tried to use the fish-men’s advantage underwater to overpower him, but Sanji continued fighting and defeated Kuroobi after returning to the surface.

Usopp faced Chew. At first, he felt extremely frightened and even considered pretending to lose so that he could escape the battle. However, the thought of his companions risking their lives for Nami made him stand up again. He then used his judgement and equipment to defeat Chew.

Luffy Faced Arlong

Luffy ultimately confronted Arlong.

Arlong possessed strength far beyond that of an ordinary human and always regarded humans as an inferior species. He mocked Nami as nothing more than a tool for drawing sea charts and believed that she would never escape his control.

During the battle, Luffy entered the room where Arlong had forced Nami to draw maps. Sea charts covered the room, and every object reflected the work that Arlong had demanded from her over many years. Only then did Luffy truly see the place where Nami had spent so much time and understand how Arlong had treated her as a tool.

Luffy did not understand navigation charts, nor did he need to understand their value. He only knew that the room represented many years of pain for Nami.

Luffy Destroyed the Map Room and Arlong Park

He therefore began destroying the maps, desks, and walls inside the room.

Arlong regarded the sea charts as valuable possessions, but Luffy saw them as symbols of the control that Arlong had imposed on Nami. For that reason, he refused to leave them standing.

Finally, Luffy used Gum-Gum Battle Axe and brought his foot down from above with tremendous force. The attack defeated Arlong and destroyed Arlong Park itself. The place that had oppressed Cocoyasi Village and Nami for so many years finally collapsed in front of everyone.

When Nami saw Arlong Park fall, she finally knew that she was truly free.

Luffy did not help her by recovering the stolen money or forcing Arlong to honour a false agreement. Instead, he defeated Arlong directly, destroyed the room where Nami had drawn maps against her will, and ended the fear that had controlled Cocoyasi Village for years.

From that point forward, Nami no longer served as a surveyor for the Arlong Pirates. She finally sailed with Luffy and the others as the true navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates. This complete story also explains why the Nami figure needed to represent more than her familiar body proportions.

The Story of Arlong Park Made Me Truly Love Nami

After watching this story, I finally understood why Nami cared so deeply about money and why she found it difficult to trust other people.

She was not a character who only knew how to run away. From a very young age, she understood that she did not possess the physical strength of Luffy or Zoro. As a result, she relied on her intelligence, navigation skills, and money to protect the people she cared about.

Nami also did not understand how to rely on companions from the beginning. She endured everything alone for many years and only reached out to Luffy after she had truly run out of options.

Because she had resisted asking for help for so long, the words “Help me, Luffy” have remained unforgettable to me.

Later, when I watched Nami become excited about treasure or angry because Luffy had damaged the ship, I no longer thought that she was simply greedy. Money had once given her the only possible way to save her village, so this part of her personality had a clear reason.

She becomes afraid and complains, but she still steps forward when her companions genuinely need her. The Straw Hat Pirates can continue their journey not only because Luffy is willing to take risks, but also because Nami observes the weather, plans routes, and guides everyone in the correct direction.

These parts of her character shaped the direction of my Nami figure and helped connect its appearance with the story that first made me love her.

Why I Decided to Create a Nami Figure

Later, when I began creating anime character figures, Nami remained one of the characters I wanted to recreate.

She has an extremely distinctive appearance. Her orange hair, mature body proportions, and intelligent, confident expression make her easy to recognise among the many characters in One Piece.

However, creating a Nami figure requires more than preserving her orange hair and sexy body.

If the face does not contain Nami’s recognisable features, the finished work may look like nothing more than an ordinary woman with orange hair. A design that only emphasises her breasts, waist, and adult appearance may qualify as a Hentai figure, but it may not become a genuine One Piece Nami figure that reminds people of the original character.

I want the Nami I create to preserve her mature and sexy appearance while also reminding people that she is the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates. She does not exist only to display her body. Her story, personality, and experiences form equally important parts of her appeal.

For that reason, I also placed my memories of the Arlong Park story into the design of this figure.

The Facial Sculpt Determines Whether the Nami Figure Truly Looks Like Her

When creating this Nami figure, I treat the facial sculpt as one of the most important parts.

Orange hair and familiar clothing can help people recognise the character quickly, but her face shape, eyes, nose, lips, and overall expression ultimately determine whether she truly looks like Nami.

Nami’s face cannot simply pursue conventional beauty. A generic real-life model style would weaken the character’s identity, even if the body proportions remained similar.

The facial sculpt therefore needs to balance her anime appearance with a three-dimensional structure. Her features must look natural at a realistic size while retaining Nami’s intelligence, confidence, and slightly mischievous expression.

I want people to think of Nami when they see her face, without first searching for clues in her orange hair or clothing.

Implanted Hair Recreates the Nami Figure’s Iconic Orange Hair

This One Piece Nami figure uses an implanted-hair technique.

Nami’s orange hair is one of her most recognisable physical features. Implanted hair creates a more natural hairline and allows individual strands to fall naturally from the head. When viewed closely, the hair has the appearance and texture of real strands rather than a completely fixed, solid hairstyle.

Collectors can also arrange the hair to suit different poses and outfits.

When Nami stands, her orange hair can fall naturally over her shoulders and down her back. In a sitting or side-facing pose, the strands can move into a different position to keep the overall appearance balanced.

However, implanted hair should not create the appearance of ordinary human hair without any connection to the character. The colour, length, density, and hairstyle still need to follow Nami’s original design so that the finished Nami figure does not become an ordinary woman with orange hair.

The Jelly Bust Creates a Softer Feel

Nami’s bust proportions form a visible part of her character design, so this Nami figure uses a jelly bust.

The jelly bust mainly creates a softer feeling that comes closer to real body tissue. Under light pressure, it can move naturally instead of maintaining the completely fixed shape of a hard material.

When the figure wears close-fitting clothing, this structure also allows the fabric to interact with the body in a more natural way.

The technique strengthens the adult tactile experience expected from a Hentai figure, but it does not define the entire figure. The jelly bust only remains connected to the character when the facial sculpt, implanted hair, body proportions, and clothing work together.

Full Silicone and TPE Body Options for the Nami Figure

This Nami figure offers either a full silicone body or a TPE body.

Different collectors have different priorities regarding body texture, daily maintenance, weight, and budget. They can therefore select the material that better matches their individual requirements.

Whether someone chooses full silicone or TPE, the overall shape will still follow Nami’s body proportions. The material does not change the character’s identity. The facial sculpt, orange implanted hair, and overall clothing will continue to preserve the recognisable appearance expected from a One Piece Nami figure.

Collectors should not view full silicone and TPE simply as a superior and an inferior material. They represent two different product options. Before choosing, each person can consider which texture, appearance, maintenance method, and budget better suit their needs.

Nami Figure Heights Range From 155 cm to 170 cm

This Nami figure comes in different heights, ranging from 155 cm to 170 cm.

Each height creates a different level of presence in a room and requires a different amount of display space. Shorter versions fit more easily into limited spaces, while taller versions create an appearance closer to realistic human proportions.

For this reason, collectors should not choose height only by looking at the number. They should also consider the available room space, intended display position, and desired visual effect.

Whether someone chooses 155 cm or 170 cm, the facial sculpt, implanted hair, body material, and overall character design will continue to focus on Nami rather than simply changing the size of a generic body.

I Want to Create More Than Just a Hentai Figure

I have never wanted to avoid Nami’s sexuality.

Her mature body proportions form a distinctive part of her appearance and give many people their first impression of her. Preserving these features in an adult Nami figure does not weaken the character.

However, I do not want her to become nothing more than a body.

A Hentai figure can have a soft jelly bust, a full silicone or TPE body, and height options ranging from 155 cm to 170 cm. However, if the face does not resemble Nami and the orange implanted hair does not preserve her character, the finished work will struggle to create a genuine connection with One Piece.

I therefore want people to recognise this work first as a One Piece Nami figure and then experience it as an adult collectible with realistic texture and mature design.

Her sexuality, story, and identity should remain connected to one another.

Care and Collection Advice for the Nami Figure

Choose a Suitable Display Environment

To help the Nami figure remain in good display condition for a long time, place it in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated environment away from prolonged direct sunlight. Continuous exposure to ultraviolet light may cause colour changes and accelerate material ageing.

Clean the Figure Carefully

For daily cleaning, use a soft dry cloth or a soft-bristled brush to remove surface dust gently. Clean detailed areas patiently, and avoid using hard tools that may scrape the surface. When the figure requires further cleaning, use a mild method and allow it to dry completely before displaying or storing it again.

Prevent Dust and Colour Transfer During Storage

If you do not plan to display the Nami figure for an extended period, store it in a clean display case or another dust-protected environment. This reduces dust accumulation and limits the effects of the surrounding environment.

Keep the figure away from prolonged contact with dark fabrics, printed materials, or other objects that may transfer colour. This precaution helps the figure maintain a clean appearance.

Good care habits not only extend the useful life of the Nami figure but also allow the character to remain in her best condition within your collection space.

Share the Anime Character You Want Us to Create

Everyone has an anime character they have always wanted to own. She may come from a work you watched during childhood, she may have accompanied you through a special period of your life, or she may simply be a character you have never been able to forget.

If you also have a favourite anime character and hope to see her created as a figure, you are welcome to submit your idea and share it with us. Tell us the character’s name, the work she comes from, and the reason you like her most. We will carefully read every suggestion and consider adding characters that we can realise to our future production plans.

In the future, we will continue creating more anime figures featuring different characters, sizes, and materials. Whether they are familiar classic characters or characters that have not yet received a careful recreation, we hope to use new facial sculpts, implanted-hair techniques, and body designs to bring them to collectors in a more complete form.

Once again, thank you for your support and appreciation of our Nami figure and our other works. Every message, character submission, and suggestion gives us greater motivation to continue creating more anime figures.
