Makima Figure: The Touch Denji Couldn’t Forget

Makima figure

The Touch Denji Couldn’t Forget Also Shaped the Way I Made This Makima Figure

When I first watched Chainsaw Man, Makima—the inspiration behind this Makima figure—quickly caught my attention.

Unlike Power, she rarely shows all her emotions directly, nor does she often use intense movements to attract attention. Most of the time, she simply stands there calmly and explains what needs to happen next in a gentle voice.

At first, I only thought she was mysterious, mature, and difficult to truly understand.

Later, when I rewatched the scene in which she bites Denji’s finger, I realized that Makima’s real appeal is not limited to her red hair, white shirt, and black tie.

She understands exactly what Denji is missing.

Denji longs to be cared for and wants someone to approach him willingly. Makima sees this clearly, and through one brief moment of physical contact, she makes him remember her warmth, scent, and the feeling of her finger.

The action leaves no obvious wound, yet it makes it increasingly difficult for Denji to refuse the conditions she gives him.

When I later began creating this Makima figure, I often thought about this scene.

I wanted the finished work to do more than resemble Makima. I also wanted it to preserve the gentleness and calmness she shows Denji while still making it clear that she remains in control.

Why Denji Still Feels Empty: The Story Behind This Makima Figure

Denji’s earlier life gave him almost no opportunity to grow up normally.

He carries the debt left by his father and begins hunting devils at a young age simply to survive. Eating a full meal, living in a clean room, or even forming an ordinary relationship with another person are not things he can easily obtain.

For this reason, Denji’s earliest wishes are very simple.

He wants to eat toast with jam and experience the kind of life an ordinary teenage boy might have. He treats physical contact as a goal that must be achieved and believes that fulfilling it will finally satisfy him.

However, when the moment he has been waiting for finally arrives, Denji does not feel the happiness he imagined.

The excitement disappears quickly, leaving behind a sense of disappointment that he cannot clearly explain.

This part of the story made me realize that what Denji truly lacks is not one particular physical experience, but the experience of building a relationship with another person.

He does not understand what intimacy really means, and he finds it difficult to distinguish between care, teasing, and control.

Makima notices his emptiness at exactly this moment.

She does not laugh at Denji or directly dismiss his wish. Instead, she slowly tells him that when people touch someone they like, they remember many details about that person’s body.

The shape of their fingers, the warmth of their skin, the feeling of their ears, and their scent can all make physical contact feel different.

After saying this, she gently bites Denji’s finger.

Makima turns an abstract explanation into a real sensation. From that moment onward, Denji begins connecting intimacy and rewards with her.

The Physical Memory Behind This Makima Figure

When I first saw this scene, I also interpreted it as Makima teasing Denji.

After watching it again, I noticed that the distance between them and the pace of the conversation always remain under Makima’s control.

She knows when to continue speaking, and she knows exactly when moving closer will make Denji remember her most clearly.

Denji believes he is learning what intimacy means, without realizing that he is gradually becoming accustomed to Makima’s guidance.

After this interaction ends, Makima places another wish in front of him.

Denji believes that completing more missions will allow him to grow closer to her. He fails to notice that Makima has already prepared every goal waiting ahead of him.

Makima rarely forces Denji directly.

She is better at first understanding what he desires and then giving him exactly the right amount of attention. Because Denji has received so little care throughout his life, he naturally struggles to judge whether her gentleness represents closeness or another form of control.

He only knows that Makima is willing to approach him.

For a boy who has rarely been treated gently, that alone is enough to make refusal almost impossible.

Why Fan Submissions Led Us to Create Chainsaw Man Figures

Our decision to create a series of Chainsaw Man figures was certainly influenced by submissions from fans.

Some people wanted to see Reze, others liked Power, and some repeatedly asked whether we would make Makima.

These submissions made us seriously consider whether we could turn several important characters into works that could truly appear in the real world.

However, fan submissions were not the only reason this series began.

I also genuinely enjoy the Chainsaw Man anime.

As the story continued, I developed a deeper understanding of Denji, Reze, Power, and Makima. They are not characters who can be distinguished simply by changing their hairstyles and clothing. Each one has a different story and leaves the audience with a completely different impression.

Because I enjoy the anime, we put a great deal of thought into creating our Chainsaw Man figures.

I did not want Reze, Power, and Makima to become similar products with only different heads and outfits.

Even when similar production methods are used, each work should retain the original character’s individual qualities.

Among them, the Makima figure was also one of the designs that required a longer period of discussion.

Why the Makima Figure Design Divided the Team

When we truly began designing Makima, everyone on the team expressed a different opinion.

Each person understood Makima in a slightly different way.

Some focused more on the danger she keeps hidden, while others wanted to emphasize her mature and sensual side.

Each idea had its own reasoning, but none of them fully matched the Makima I had in mind.

She is not always cold when she is with Denji.

Much of the time, she speaks to him gently and willingly shortens the distance between them. Denji first feels that attention, and only then begins accepting the missions and conditions she gives him.

For that reason, I did not want the design drawings to present her as someone defined only by coldness.

Makima’s danger does not need to be written directly across her face. The calmer she appears, the easier it becomes for Denji to believe that she is treating him as someone special.

The team discussed the drawings for a long time, but our opinions still could not be completely unified.

To preserve my own understanding of Makima, I repeatedly explained my ideas to everyone and continued insisting on the original design direction.

After many discussions, the team finally agreed to continue production using the drawings I had designed.

What I wanted to achieve was actually very simple.

I wanted Makima to step out of the anime and into reality.

Sculpting the Face of Our Makima Figure

After the design drawings were finalized, we contacted a professional artisan to sculpt Makima’s face.

Throughout the production process, I wanted the finished work to reproduce Makima from the anime as closely as possible, and the face was an important part of that character recreation.

We therefore gave the finalized drawings to a professional artisan and asked him to sculpt the face according to the design.

As the design that had existed only on paper gradually became a three-dimensional form, the Makima figure truly entered the production stage.

After the face was completed, we continued with the hair and body.

Recreating Makima’s Hairstyle for the Figure

For Makima’s hairstyle, we chose soft rubber hair.

Her red hair is already an important part of her appearance, so we continued following the hairstyle shown in the anime when producing it.

The hair needed to be considered together with the completed face. We did not want the face and hairstyle to look like two unrelated parts.

Once the red hair, white shirt, and black tie gradually came together, Makima’s overall appearance also began to feel complete.

However, her appearance was only one part of the production process.

After completing the hair, we still needed to decide how to make the body.

Why This Makima Figure Uses Full-Body Silicone

After completing the face and hair, we began producing Makima’s body.

I had always hoped that the finished character would feel as though she had stepped more realistically out of the anime, so we chose full-body silicone for her body.

This material is relatively close to the appearance and feel of a real human body, and it also allows the finished body to look more natural.

From finalizing the original drawings and asking a professional artisan to sculpt the face, to using soft rubber hair and full-body silicone, we continued working around the same idea.

We wanted to preserve Makima’s original appearance as much as possible while allowing her to exist beyond the anime screen.

Jelly Breast Design in This Makima Figure

For the chest, we used a jelly breast design.

Many people are unfamiliar with this technique. Jelly breasts use a material that is softer than ordinary silicone, and the texture is also closer to that of a real woman’s chest.

The body needs to maintain a certain level of support, while the softness of the chest is naturally different from other areas. For this reason, we did not give the entire body exactly the same firmness.

After adding the jelly breast design, the chest looks more natural and feels softer and more comfortable to the touch.

We used this method because we wanted different parts of the body to have more natural variations rather than giving the entire figure exactly the same texture from head to toe.

Although this work may also appear in searches related to Hentai figure, during the actual production process we continued building it step by step around Makima’s own appearance rather than designing it only around one particular physical feature.

Adding a Metal Skeleton to the Makima Figure

To make it possible to adjust the body’s pose, we also added a metal skeleton inside Makima’s body.

With the skeleton inside, she does not need to remain in one fixed position. Collectors can adjust her arms, legs, and body according to their preferences, allowing her to stand or sit.

I did not want Makima to remain permanently fixed in the exact moment when she bites Denji’s finger.

What made that scene memorable to me was not only the movement itself, but the way she changed Denji’s thoughts simply by moving closer to him.

Because the figure can change poses, collectors can display her according to their own understanding of the character.

Changing her clothes, repositioning her arms, or adjusting her posture can allow the same Makima figure to take on different appearances.

How Three Chainsaw Man Figures Preserve Different Character Qualities

Our current Chainsaw Man series includes Reze, Power, and Makima.

Although all three come from the same work and use similar production methods, they cannot be distinguished only by replacing their faces and hair.

Reze’s story with Denji carries both gentleness and danger, while briefly allowing him to imagine the possibility of a different life.

Power has a more direct personality, and neither her emotions nor her movements are willing to remain restrained. Her time with Denji often creates chaos, but that is also what gives her such a distinctive sense of life.

Makima, on the other hand, hides her emotions beneath a calm exterior.

She does not need to chase Denji or directly demand that he like her. A little care and the promise of another reward are enough to make him approach her willingly.

This is why we continued discussing the characters while producing the Chainsaw Man figures.

Even when the materials and body construction are similar, the finished works still need to preserve the different qualities of each character.

Our Chainsaw Man Figures Are Still in Pre-Order and Production

Our Chainsaw Man figure series is currently still in the pre-order stage, and the factory is continuing production according to the finalized drawings and plans.

According to the current production schedule, Reze and Power are expected to be completed in early July.

Makima will require more time and is expected to meet everyone in August.

From the first discussions about the design drawings to confirming the face sculpt, soft rubber hair, full-body silicone, jelly breast design, and metal skeleton, every part still needs to be completed according to the finalized plan.

Production takes time, but I do not want to abandon the original design simply to finish the work earlier.

Makima in particular generated many different opinions from the design stage onward.

Since we ultimately adopted the direction I insisted on, I also hope the finished work will genuinely reflect my understanding of the character rather than gradually becoming something different during later production.

Thank You for Supporting Our Chainsaw Man Figures

Thank you very much for your continued attention and support for our Chainsaw Man figure series.

Whether you are a fan who has participated in the pre-order or someone who continues following the production progress, your encouragement has made us even more determined to complete every detail carefully throughout the entire process.

All products are currently still being produced according to the established schedule. We will also arrange the shipping process as soon as possible to ensure that every fan who has already made a purchase can receive their figure smoothly.

While waiting for shipping, we would also like to share a few simple care suggestions in advance.

During everyday display, we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to help prevent material ageing or changes in colour. You can also use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the surface from time to time and keep the figure clean and tidy.

When adjusting the pose, please move the body slowly and avoid applying excessive force in order to protect the stability of the internal structure.

We will continue paying attention to everyone’s feedback and will keep improving our products and services in the future.

Thank you again for your support and patience. We will do our best to deliver every figure safely and completely.
