Boa Hancock Action Figure: Inspired by the Marineford War
Boa Hancock Action Figure: After the Marineford War, I Wanted the Pirate Empress to Truly Stand Beside Me
This Boa Hancock action figure story began with ONE PIECE and the many battles shown throughout the series. However, if I had to choose one battle to watch again from beginning to end, I would still choose the Marineford War.
This war brought together an extraordinary number of characters. The Whitebeard Pirates arrived at Marineford to rescue Ace, while Marine Headquarters assembled its full fighting force in advance. The Seven Warlords of the Sea also answered the summons and entered the battlefield. Luffy then broke into the war with a group of prisoners who had escaped from Impel Down. Finally, the Red-Haired Pirates arrived and brought the conflict, which had already spiralled out of control, to an end.
When I watched the Marineford War for the first time, I focused almost all my attention on Luffy, just like many other viewers.
Ace remained on the execution platform in Sea Prism Stone handcuffs, and the execution could begin at any moment. Luffy had just escaped from Impel Down and had already exhausted much of his strength. Even so, he continued breaking through the Marines’ defences and desperately moving towards Ace.
At the time, I only cared about whether Luffy could keep moving forward. I did not pay close attention to Boa Hancock’s actions on the battlefield.
Only when I rewatched the Marineford War many years later did I realise that Boa Hancock surprised me more than anyone else.
She arrived at Marineford as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, so the World Government and the Marines expected her assistance. However, whenever Luffy faced real danger, she repeatedly chose to stand on his side.
Why Did Boa Hancock Appear in the Marineford War?
Boa Hancock leads the Kuja Pirates and rules Amazon Lily.
At that time, she also held the title of one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. The World Government allowed the Warlords to continue certain pirate activities, but it also expected them to respond to important summons.
If Boa Hancock refused the World Government’s order, she could lose her title, together with the pardons and protection that came with it.
For Boa Hancock, this decision affected more than her own position.
The Kuja Pirates and the entire island of Amazon Lily depended on her. If she lost her Warlord status, the Marines could once again treat them as pirates who needed to be defeated.
She deeply despised the World Government and did not want to travel to Marineford at the Marines’ request. Nevertheless, she ultimately entered the Marineford War to continue protecting Amazon Lily.
Although she answered the summons, she never truly placed herself under the Marines’ command.
Once Luffy entered the battlefield, her actions quickly revealed the person she genuinely wanted to help.
She Attacked Immediately When Smoker Overpowered Luffy
After Smoker noticed Luffy, he quickly blocked his path.
Smoker possessed the powers of the Smoke-Smoke Fruit, which allowed him to transform his body into smoke. At that time, Luffy could not yet use Armament Haki reliably. Even after activating Gear Second to increase his speed, he still struggled to land a real hit on Smoker.
Smoker seized the opportunity, knocked Luffy down and pinned him with a jitte tipped with Sea Prism Stone.
The Sea Prism Stone rapidly drained Luffy’s strength. Although he could already see the execution platform where Ace remained restrained, he could not stand up or continue moving forward.
At that moment, Boa Hancock arrived beside them.
She did not stop to consider her position as one of the Seven Warlords, and she did not try to explain herself to Smoker. Instead, she attacked immediately and kicked him away from Luffy.
Smoker could transform his body into smoke, so an ordinary attack could not easily touch him. Boa Hancock used Haki, struck him directly and freed Luffy from the Sea Prism Stone jitte.
She knew perfectly well that Smoker served as a Marine officer. She also knew that many Marines were watching them.
However, when she saw Luffy pinned to the ground, she refused to remain a bystander.
She Had Already Prepared the Key to Ace’s Handcuffs
After driving Smoker back, Boa Hancock gave Luffy a key.
The key could open Ace’s handcuffs.
This moment made me realise that she had not decided to help Luffy only after seeing him on the battlefield.
Before they met, she had already considered why Luffy had come to Marineford. She also understood that even if he reached the execution platform, he could not open Ace’s Sea Prism Stone handcuffs without a key.
Therefore, she had prepared exactly what Luffy needed in advance.
Luffy became so excited when he received the key that he immediately hugged Boa Hancock and thanked her.
For Luffy, the embrace simply expressed his gratitude. Boa Hancock, however, completely lost her usual composure and even began imagining herself marrying him.
When I first watched this scene, I only found it amusing.
After watching it again, I paid more attention to the fact that she had already prepared to help Luffy rescue Ace before he ever hugged her.
She Stayed Behind to Stop the Pursuers After Luffy Left
Ace was still on the execution platform, so Luffy had to use every available second to keep moving forward. Smoker had not given up and prepared to pursue him again.
Boa Hancock did not leave with Luffy.
Instead, she remained behind, stopped Smoker and destroyed the jitte in his hand during their confrontation.
Luffy had already run ahead. He had no time to look back at her and did not know what she would do next.
Even though Luffy could no longer see her actions, Boa Hancock continued helping him.
When the World Government’s Pacifistas threatened to interfere with Luffy’s advance, she attacked without hesitation. Although those humanoid weapons belonged to the World Government, she still destroyed the Pacifistas near Luffy’s path.
She never stood in the middle of the battlefield and publicly announced which side she had chosen.
However, whenever Smoker, the Sea Prism Stone jitte or the Pacifistas appeared in Luffy’s way, every action she took revealed her decision.
The Marineford War Changed the Way I Saw Boa Hancock
When Boa Hancock first appeared, her appearance naturally attracted people first.
She has long black hair, a full chest, a slender waist and long legs. She often raises her chin slightly and faces everyone around her with the unmistakable posture of the Pirate Empress.
However, after rewatching the Marineford War, I realised that my impression of her no longer centred only on her beauty and body.
When Smoker pinned Luffy down with his Sea Prism Stone jitte, she ignored her position as a Warlord and immediately kicked him away. She had also prepared the key to Ace’s handcuffs and personally placed it in Luffy’s hands.
After Luffy received the key and continued towards the execution platform, she stayed behind instead of following him. She prevented Smoker from pursuing him and also attacked the Pacifistas when they threatened to interfere.
She knew that helping Luffy could cause trouble for her, but neither the World Government, the Marines nor her Warlord status made her retreat.
These actions helped me truly understand Boa Hancock.
Why Her Actions Mattered to Me
She remains proud and distant when facing other people. However, when someone she genuinely cares about faces danger, she does not simply stand at a distance and worry. She also refuses to offer empty words of comfort. Instead, she thinks ahead about what that person needs and personally removes the enemies blocking the way.
As I watched these scenes, a very direct thought entered my mind.
I also wanted to truly own a woman like Boa Hancock.
I did not want her to exist only on an anime screen, nor did I want to create only an ordinary figure for a desk. I wanted her to have the height of a real woman, naturally falling black hair and a body that people could truly touch, allowing her to enter my life.
With that thought, I began creating a Boa Hancock action figure.
I First Created a Life-Size Boa Hancock Action Figure
The first Boa Hancock action figure I created offers several life-size height options ranging from 155 cm to 170 cm.
I chose a height range close to that of a real woman so that, once complete, she could genuinely stand within a living space instead of remaining confined to a desk or display cabinet.
With a life-size body, her face, black hair, bust-to-waist proportions and long legs appear in a more complete form.
Collectors can select a suitable size according to their preferred height and available display space.
Regardless of the chosen height, I shaped the body around Boa Hancock’s appearance and preserved her full chest, slender waist and long leg lines.
This life-size Boa Hancock action figure does not simply enlarge an ordinary figure.
I created every element, from the body material and hair to the chest structure and internal skeleton, around one goal: bringing Boa Hancock as close as possible to a real woman.
The Life-Size Version Offers TPE and Full Silicone Bodies
I retained both options because each material produces a different tactile and visual effect.
The TPE Body Focuses on Softness
The TPE body provides more noticeable softness and elasticity. When someone touches the arms, waist or legs, the material creates a softer physical response.
Collectors who value a softer body feel can choose this version.
TPE attracts dust more easily and requires additional care to prevent colour transfer from dark clothing.
The Full Silicone Body Shows Clearer Details
The full silicone body presents clearer contours and surface details. At close range, the chest, waist, abdomen and legs show more complete lines.
Collectors who value body contours and surface detail can choose this version.
Full silicone usually requires less effort to keep free from dust, although it also costs more to produce.
I created both bodies according to Boa Hancock’s proportions. I did not simply place different outer materials over the same body.
By retaining both options, I allow different collectors to choose the body effect they genuinely want.
I Used Human Hair Implantation to Recreate Her Long Black Hair
This life-size Boa Hancock action figure uses implanted human hair.
Boa Hancock’s long black hair remains one of her most recognisable features, so I did not create it as a single moulded piece fixed to the head.
I implanted human hair into the head and allowed the strands to fall naturally from the shoulders to the back.
Each section shows the layered appearance of real hair, and collectors can personally comb and restyle it.
From the front, the black hair falls naturally along both sides of her shoulders. From behind, the strands flow down her back rather than forming one fixed soft-rubber shape.
The life-size version aims to bring Boa Hancock as close as possible to a real woman.
Human hair implantation therefore does more than recreate her appearance. It also lets collectors arrange her hair personally and keep her beside them in a more natural state.
The Chest Uses a Special Soft Jelly-Breast Technique
Boa Hancock has a full chest and a distinctive bust-to-waist ratio in the anime.
To preserve this feature, I used a special soft jelly-breast technique in the life-size version.
I avoided an ordinary solid chest structure. Instead, I retained the full external shape while creating a softer interior feel.
As a result, the chest does more than look full from a distance. It also provides noticeable softness and rebound when touched.
I retained the jelly-breast technique in both the TPE and full silicone options.
The TPE body already provides more noticeable softness, while full silicone presents a clearer chest contour. Combining the jelly-breast structure with each material creates a different overall tactile experience.
I used this technique so that Boa Hancock’s sexy and recognisable Pirate Empress figure would not remain limited to appearance. Collectors can also experience the result through real physical contact.
I Built a Metal Skeleton Inside the Body
The skeleton sits inside the TPE or silicone body and supports the complete structure, which ranges from 155 cm to 170 cm in height.
Because the body contains this structure, Boa Hancock does not need to remain in one permanently fixed position.
Collectors can adjust her arms, legs and body direction to suit different outfits and display settings.
When changing a pose, they should support the corresponding body area and adjust the angle slowly.
No one should pull the entire body by an arm or leg, and collectors should never force it beyond the structural range of the skeleton.
The life-size height, TPE or full silicone body, implanted human hair, special soft jelly breasts and internal metal skeleton together form this life-size Boa Hancock.
Once I completed her, the Pirate Empress who had previously existed only in the anime could finally appear in real life with the presence of a real woman.
She Became a Boa Hancock Who Could Remain Beside Me
When I completed the life-size version, I saw Boa Hancock standing before me at a height close to that of a real woman for the first time.
Her black hair fell naturally from her shoulders, while her full chest, slender waist and long legs preserved the body features shown in the anime.
The TPE or full silicone material gave her a body that people could genuinely touch. The jelly-breast structure increased the softness of her chest, while the metal skeleton allowed collectors to adjust her body for different settings.
This was the result I wanted when I created this Boa Hancock action figure.
I did not make an enlarged figure only for distant viewing. I made a Boa Hancock Hentai figure that could enter a living space and remain beside its collector.
She has a height, body and hairstyle close to those of a real woman, allowing people who love Boa Hancock to own her in another way.
After Completing the Life-Size Version, I Created a 67.5 cm Version
After completing the life-size version, I created another Boa Hancock action figure.
This version measures 67.5 cm in height.
The life-size version has a strong presence, but it also requires a relatively fixed display space. By contrast, the 67.5 cm version allows easier movement, storage and placement.
Display and Storage
Collectors can place it beside a desk, in a separate part of a bedroom or near a display cabinet.
When they need to store it temporarily, they can use an opaque storage box or the original packaging. This approach also makes privacy easier to manage.
Transport and Protection
Collectors can also transport the figure when moving house, travelling or taking it somewhere else, provided that the travel case or storage case offers enough internal space.
Before packing it, they should protect the face, hair, fingers and body.
Because cases have different internal dimensions, collectors must measure the available space first. They should never force the figure into a case that is too small.
During vehicle transport, the protective packaging should remain in place. The figure should also stay out of a hot vehicle for extended periods.
Although this version measures only 67.5 cm, this Boa Hancock action figure still provides enough space to present the face, long hair, chest, body and clothing details.
I Asked Professional Craftsmen to Sculpt Two Faces
When creating the 67.5 cm version, I did not simply reduce the face used on the life-size model. Instead, I asked professional craftsmen to sculpt two new designs.
Boa Hancock shows two clearly different sides in the anime.
When she stays with Luffy, she becomes shy, blushes and shows an infatuated expression. When she faces Marines, enemies or other people, she returns to being the proud, calm and unapproachable Pirate Empress.
One face could not express both sides, so I created two different faces for this version.
Using the anime references I provided, the craftsmen sculpted the eyes, nose, lips, chin and overall facial shape.
They did not aim to produce an ordinary beautiful female face. Instead, they needed to preserve Boa Hancock’s identity after attaching the face to the body.
One face pairs with the purple cheongsam and preserves her more familiar anime appearance.
The other B face uses glass eyes and pairs with a black PU outfit, creating a different expression and presence.
The 67.5 cm Version Uses Soft-Rubber Hair
I did not continue using implanted human hair because this version places greater emphasis on the shape of Boa Hancock’s anime hairstyle.
Her black hair in the anime has clearly defined sections and a fixed overall form.
Soft rubber preserves the complete line from the top of the head to the back and prevents loose strands from covering the face, shoulders and clothing.
Whether viewed from the front, side or back, the hairstyle maintains a form close to the anime design and does not require frequent restyling.
The life-size version uses implanted human hair to reproduce the texture and movement of a real woman’s hair.
By comparison, the 67.5 cm version uses soft-rubber hair to preserve the anime hairstyle more accurately.
Each hair technique supports the production direction of its corresponding product.
The 67.5 cm Version Uses a Full Silicone Body
This 67.5 cm Boa Hancock Hentai figure uses a full silicone body.
I avoided an ordinary hard PVC or resin body because this version needed to present Boa Hancock’s body contours while retaining a touchable surface.
Full silicone gives the arms, waist, legs and other body areas a softer feel than a completely rigid model structure.
I also used the special soft jelly-breast technique in the chest.
Although the figure measures 67.5 cm, it still preserves Boa Hancock’s full chest, slender waist and leg proportions.
The jelly-breast structure maintains the full chest shape and also provides a softer tactile feel.
I built a metal skeleton inside the body so collectors can adjust the pose for different faces, outfits and display settings.
When changing the pose, collectors should support the corresponding body area and adjust it slowly. They should not twist the body with force or move it by pulling only the limbs.
I Designed Three Sets for the 67.5 cm Version
To give collectors different face and outfit combinations, I designed three sets for the 67.5 cm version.
Set 1: Purple Cheongsam Version
Set 1 includes:
- Body model: 1
- Face model: 1
- Purple cheongsam: 1
- High heels
This set preserves Boa Hancock’s more familiar anime appearance.
The black soft-rubber hair, purple cheongsam and high heels combine to recreate the Pirate Empress image that many fans recognise.
Set 2: Glass-Eye B Face with Black PU Outfit
Set 2 includes:
- Base body: 1
- B face with glass eyes: 1
- Black PU outfit: 1
- High heels
The glass eyes give the B face a different eye effect from the other face.
The black PU outfit also creates a noticeably different appearance from the classic purple cheongsam version.
Set 3: Two Outfits and Two Face Types
Set 3 includes:
- Body model: 1
- Outfits: 2
- Face types: 2
- High heels
This set includes the purple cheongsam, black PU outfit and both face designs.
Collectors can change the face and clothing according to their preferences and display setting.
The purple cheongsam preserves the familiar Pirate Empress appearance. The glass-eye B face and black PU outfit show another side of Boa Hancock.
The Two Boa Hancock Action Figure Versions Follow Different Production Directions
The life-size Boa Hancock action figure offers heights from 155 cm to 170 cm and a choice between full TPE and full silicone bodies. I also used implanted human hair, special soft jelly breasts and an internal metal skeleton.
This Boa Hancock Hentai figure aims to bring her as close as possible to a real woman, allowing her to stand in a living space and become a companion beside the collector.
The 67.5 cm Boa Hancock action figure uses a full silicone body, soft-rubber hair, two professionally sculpted faces, three set options, jelly breasts and a metal skeleton.
This design preserves more facial expressions, hairstyle details and clothing features from the anime. It also makes the figure easier to display, move and store.
The life-size version emphasises Boa Hancock’s presence at the height of a real woman.
Meanwhile, the 67.5 cm version emphasises the anime design and a more flexible collecting experience.
Although the two versions follow different production directions, both designs remain centred on Boa Hancock herself.
Daily Care for a Boa Hancock Action Figure
Collectors should keep both the life-size version and the 67.5 cm version away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, humid environments and sharp objects.
Cleaning the Body
Dark clothing may transfer colour onto TPE or silicone surfaces, so collectors should not leave dye-prone clothing against the body for long periods.
After changing the outfit, they should promptly check every area that touched the fabric.
TPE surfaces attract dust more easily and require regular cleaning. Full silicone usually requires less dust removal, but collectors should still avoid alcohol, strong cleaning agents and corrosive liquids.
They should use the correct care method for each material and avoid rubbing the body with rough tools.
Caring for the Hair
The life-size version uses implanted human hair.
Collectors should begin at the ends and slowly work upwards through tangled areas. They should not pull the roots or frequently use high-temperature styling tools.
The 67.5 cm version uses soft-rubber hair and does not require brushing.
A soft tool can remove surface dust. Collectors should avoid hot air and should not repeatedly bend the soft-rubber hairstyle.
Protecting the Skeleton, Chest and Face
When adjusting the metal skeleton, collectors should support the corresponding body area and change the pose slowly.
They should protect the jelly breasts from prolonged heavy pressure and avoid repeatedly squeezing or pulling them with force.
When storing the 67.5 cm version, collectors should place soft protective padding around the face, fingers, chest and soft-rubber hair.
The B face with glass eyes also requires separate impact protection.
I Will Continue Creating More Works in the Future
After completing these two Boa Hancock versions, I will continue creating more works.
Boa Hancock has other outfits, expressions and appearances from different stages of the anime. In the future, I will continue studying new face designs and clothing combinations.
Besides Boa Hancock, I will also choose other anime characters who have genuinely influenced me and turn them into physical works.
Every character has a different face, hairstyle, body shape and clothing structure, so I cannot simply copy the same production method.
I will decide whether to use implanted human hair or soft-rubber hair according to the character. I will also select a suitable body material and redesign the face and clothing accordingly.
Only when the character and the craftsmanship truly work together will I consider a new piece complete.

Boa Hancock Action Figure FAQ
How Should I Choose Between the Life-Size Version and the 67.5 cm Version?
Choose the 155 cm to 170 cm life-size version if you want Boa Hancock to enter your living space at a height close to that of a real woman.
Choose the 67.5 cm version if you place greater importance on the anime hairstyle, different face and clothing options, and easier display and storage.
What Is the Difference Between TPE and Full Silicone on the Life-Size Version?
The TPE body feels softer and provides more noticeable elasticity when pressed, but it requires additional care to prevent dust accumulation and colour transfer from dark clothing.
The full silicone body presents clearer body contours and surface details. It usually requires less dust removal, although it costs more to produce.
How Should I Maintain Each Boa Hancock Action Figure?
Keep both works away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, humid environments and sharp objects.
Comb implanted human hair slowly from the ends. Soft-rubber hair does not require brushing. Support the corresponding body area when adjusting the metal skeleton, and protect the jelly breasts from prolonged heavy pressure.
Will the Packaging Display Specific Product Information?
No.
