Why Did Aerith Still Fall After Cloud Blocked the Masamune?
The story behind this Aerith figure begins after Cloud and his companions leave Midgar and continue pursuing Sephiroth.
By this point, Aerith no longer sees Cloud as the unfamiliar mercenary she met in the Sector 5 church. During the journey, she notices his headaches, confused memories and sudden visions.
Cloud believes that he served as a SOLDIER First Class. He also remembers taking part in the Nibelheim mission five years earlier.
However, many of those memories originally belonged to Zack Fair. Crisis Core gives more background to Zack, Aerith and the events that shaped Cloud’s broken identity.
Cloud does not deliberately lie to his companions. Instead, the false memories feel completely real to him.
Meanwhile, Sephiroth repeatedly enters the fractures in Cloud’s mind. He uses those weaknesses to influence Cloud’s decisions and isolate him from the other party members.
Aerith notices the problem early. Even so, she avoids directly denying the past Cloud believes.
She understands that his mind has become unstable. Therefore, a sudden confrontation could push him deeper into confusion.
Cloud and Aerith Grew Closer During the Journey
Zack plays a part in Aerith’s first interest in Cloud.
The way Cloud carries the Buster Sword and speaks about SOLDIER reminds her of the man who never returned to the church.
Even so, Aerith does not treat Cloud as a replacement for Zack.
As the journey continues, she begins to notice Cloud’s genuine reactions. He often acts distant, yet he repeatedly protects his companions whenever danger appears.
Cloud may sound impatient, but he rarely refuses Aerith when she truly needs him.
Therefore, Cloud and Aerith gradually build their own emotional connection.
Aerith wants to understand the person hidden beneath the false memories. That mixture of warmth and concern later influenced the expression I wanted this Aerith design to preserve.
Aerith Wanted to Meet the Real Cloud
During the Gold Saucer date, Aerith and Cloud enter the Ferris wheel together.
Lights move past the window while Cloud struggles to respond to her feelings. Aerith then tells him that she wants to meet the real Cloud.
Her words mean more than an ordinary confession.
Aerith already knows that Cloud’s fighting habits and remembered past do not entirely belong to him. She wants to reach the person beneath the mako exposure, Zack’s memories and Sephiroth’s influence.
Cloud cannot give her a clear answer because he does not yet understand himself.
For this reason, the relationship between Cloud Strife and Aerith always carries a sense of unease.
The closer Aerith moves toward the real Cloud, the more clearly she sees Sephiroth controlling his thoughts.
Tifa and Aerith Both Tried to Protect Cloud
Tifa also knows that something is wrong with Cloud’s memories.
She personally experienced the Nibelheim incident. However, she cannot understand why Cloud remembers so many details.
Tifa wants to ask him about the truth, but she fears that directly challenging his identity could cause him to collapse.
Aerith understands that concern.
During the journey, Tifa and Aerith watch Cloud whenever he becomes unresponsive. They also exchange concerned looks when he cannot see them.
Tifa usually keeps her fears private. By contrast, Aerith approaches Cloud more directly.
Their methods differ, but both women want to stop Sephiroth from taking complete control.
Neither woman treats the other only as a romantic rival. Instead, the most important part of the Tifa Aerith relationship is their shared concern for Cloud.
The Black Materia Caused Cloud to Lose Control
After the group enters the Temple of the Ancients, Sephiroth’s plan becomes clearer.
He intends to use the Black Materia to summon Meteor. The wound created by Meteor would then draw the Lifestream toward one location.
Sephiroth plans to absorb that power.
Cloud and his companions try to obtain the Black Materia first. However, Sephiroth enters Cloud’s mind again.
Cloud ignores the voices around him and eventually hands the Black Materia to Sephiroth.
Aerith tries to stop him. Under Sephiroth’s influence, Cloud chases her and nearly attacks her.
The other party members intervene before he can cause greater harm.
Aerith does not blame Cloud because she knows that those actions do not reflect his real intentions.
Nevertheless, she also understands that Cloud can no longer resist Sephiroth without help.
Why Aerith Went to the Forgotten Capital Alone
Aerith is the last surviving Cetra.
She can hear the planet and knows how to use the White Materia. No other party member can activate Holy in her place.
For this reason, she leaves the group and travels to the Forgotten Capital alone.
Aerith does not leave because she hates Cloud or distrusts her friends.
Instead, she knows that Cloud can no longer protect her reliably. Allowing him to follow may give Sephiroth another chance to control him.
Before leaving, Aerith hides much of her fear. She speaks gently and asks Cloud to take care of himself.
She then reaches the central altar and begins praying to the planet.
Her decision to continue despite the danger became one of the strongest emotional references behind my Aerith figure.
Does Aerith Die in FF7 Rebirth?
Aerith kneels at the centre of the altar and focuses on completing her prayer.
Sephiroth descends from above and drives the Masamune toward her. Cloud sees the attack and rushes forward.
He uses the Buster Sword to deflect the Masamune.
In the scene Cloud first sees, Aerith remains unharmed. No blood appears, and he believes that he saved her.
However, the image changes moments later.
Blood appears on the Masamune. Aerith loses strength and falls into Cloud’s arms.
Tifa, Barret, Red XIII and Yuffie Kisaragi arrive soon afterward. They react as though Aerith has died.
Therefore, the physical reality experienced by the group is that Sephiroth killed Aerith at the altar.
Compared with the original game, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth presents this moment with much more uncertainty around what Cloud sees and what the rest of the party experiences.
Cloud appears to experience another outcome in which he successfully blocked the attack. As a result, the scene deliberately leaves part of Aerith’s fate unresolved from his point of view.
The official Final Fantasy VII Rebirth page provides information about the Square Enix video game, but the full meaning of Aerith’s ending will depend on the final part of the remake trilogy.
Why Can Cloud Still See Aerith?
After the battle, Cloud continues to see Aerith and hear her voice.
The other companions cannot see her in the same way.
Tifa, Barret and Yuffie leave the Forgotten Capital while grieving. Only Red XIII briefly seems to sense Aerith when she approaches him.
Aerith does not return to ordinary life or resume travelling with the group.
At this stage, the game does not confirm exactly what Cloud sees.
One possibility is that Aerith contacts him through the Lifestream. Another possibility connects her appearance to the alternate worlds shown throughout Rebirth.
Cloud’s inability to accept her loss may also affect his perception.
For now, the game separates two ideas: the party experiences Aerith’s death, while Cloud continues to perceive her presence.
Why Aerith’s Actions Changed How I Saw Her
My interest in Aerith did not begin with a single attractive image.
She approaches Cloud despite his distance. She also protects his feelings after recognising the problems in his memories.
After Cloud loses control at the Temple of the Ancients, Aerith does not condemn him.
Instead, she understands that Sephiroth used him.
Aerith then accepts the prayer that only she can complete. She enters the Forgotten Capital even though she knows Sephiroth may follow.
That courage gave the character a lasting place in my memory.
Aerith Cosplay and Character Recognition
Many fans recreate the pink dress, red jacket, long braid and ribbon through Aerith cosplay.
Some Aerith Gainsborough cosplay photographs also include flower baskets, bracelets and church backgrounds.
Together, these details can immediately recall the character.
However, clothing alone cannot reproduce the Aerith I remember.
Her gentle but direct gaze toward Cloud matters just as much. So does the slight smile she uses when reducing tension.
For this reason, cosplay Aerith designs work best when the face and expression support the outfit.
Adult Fan Creations and the Face I Wanted
Adult illustrations and redesigned versions of Aerith often emphasise her body.
However, many of them also change the facial structure, eyes or familiar expression.
Some retain the pink dress and braid, yet the person no longer feels like Aerith.
For me, the most important details remained in her face.
Her eyes needed to stay gentle while preserving the directness she showed toward Cloud. Likewise, her mouth needed the natural confidence associated with her humour.
When existing works could not present the Aerith I remembered, I decided to create my own Aerith figure.
Aerith Figure and Character-Inspired Adult Formats
As an Anime Figure, the design preserves Aerith’s green eyes, long braid, pink ribbon and familiar clothing.
Meanwhile, an Anime doll presents the same character through a softer body and an adjustable internal structure.
This product followed a mature Hentai Figure direction from the beginning. However, the adult format did not replace Aerith’s facial identity.
The completed design kept her gentle eye shape, curved eyebrows and slightly raised lips.
In addition, I preserved the long braid, loose hair strands and pink ribbon.
The full silicone body contains an articulated metal skeleton. Therefore, the arms, legs and torso can move carefully for different scenes.
For example, she can sit in a room or place both hands near her chest to recreate the prayer pose from the Forgotten Capital.
During photography, the gaze, hand position and seated posture can change. As a result, each adjustment presents another side of Aerith.
The design remains part of our Final Fantasy figure collection.

When I placed the completed Sex Doll in front of me, her face still carried Aerith’s familiar expression.
The pink dress and red jacket recalled her appearance during the journey. Meanwhile, the second red dress created a more mature presentation.
