Ada Wong Figure: How I Finally Brought My Childhood Memory of Ada Wong into Reality

Many people first discovered Ada Wong through the Resident Evil series.

Although Resident Evil has been around for many years, it is much more than an old game to many players. It holds the tension we felt when we first encountered horror, adventure, and an unknown world as children. It also carries childhood memories that many of us could never replace.

When I was young, most boys seemed unable to resist this kind of game, and I was no exception.

In my eyes at the time, she was like a mysterious and mature older sister.

It felt as though she was always somewhere within the game world, occasionally appearing and leading me through one adventure after another. She never remained by my side for long, but every brief appearance stayed in my memory for a very long time.

The Game Accompanied the Quiet Boy I Used to Be

I was a quiet and relatively introverted boy from an early age.

When my classmates began dating, skipping classes, or spending their time on all kinds of lively activities, I rarely joined them. Those things never seemed to hold my attention. In contrast, a game such as Resident Evil could keep me quietly absorbed for a very long time.

Inside the game world, I did not need to search for conversation topics or force myself to fit in with a group.

I could sit alone in front of the screen and slowly follow the story. Every completed mission, every solved puzzle, and every appearance by Ada Wong allowed me to temporarily forget the silence and loneliness of real life.

As time passed, Ada Wong stopped being only a character in a game.

She gradually became a companion within my childhood memories.

Almost every night before going to sleep, I would open pictures of Ada Wong and look at them. The internet was not as convenient as it is today, and there were not nearly as many pictures available. However, simply seeing her familiar short hair and red outfit made me feel satisfied.

I often imagined what it would be like if she no longer existed only on a game screen and could actually appear in my life.

At that time, I had no idea what kind of work I would do in the future. I certainly never imagined that I would one day make my own ada wong figure with my own hands.

I simply continued to hope that one day, I could truly have her.

After Graduating from University, I Entered the Figure-Making Industry

Time slowly passed. The quiet boy who spent every day immersed in the game world eventually became an adult who needed to face work and everyday life.

After graduating from university, I threw myself into the figure-making industry.

When I first entered this field, I needed to learn many things that I had never encountered before. I also began to understand that turning a character figure from an idea into a physical object involved much more than simply copying a picture.

Creating a figure requires you to determine the character image you want to present. After that, you must gradually work through the character’s appearance, body structure, and overall effect. Every decision can influence how the final figure looks and feels.

During this process, I once again remembered Ada Wong, the character who had accompanied me throughout my childhood.

I had not forgotten my childhood companion. I had also not forgotten the nights when I repeatedly looked at her pictures before going to sleep.

The wish that had been impossible to realise when I was young suddenly no longer seemed so distant after I entered the figure-making industry.

Therefore, I decided to create an ada wong figure that truly belonged to me.

I Did Not Want to Create a Cold, Solid Figure

My original idea was actually very simple.

I did not want her to be like an ordinary solid figure that existed only as a cold and rigid form.

A traditional solid figure can maintain a fixed pose and remain inside a display cabinet for long-term viewing. However, this was not the feeling I truly wanted.

In my memories, Ada Wong was never a motionless character.

She moved through dangerous situations, appeared unexpectedly in different places, and quietly disappeared after completing a mission. Every movement she made formed part of my complete memory of the character.

Therefore, I did not want the ada wong figure I created to remain in one pose forever.

I wanted her to move her body like a human being. I also wanted collectors to adjust her movements according to their own ideas, rather than viewing her only as a form that could be appreciated from one fixed angle.

This became the most important idea behind the figure when I began creating it.

I Began Developing Her as a Hentai Figure

From the beginning of the design process, I decided to develop her as a Hentai figure.

I did not want her body to remain as hard as that of a traditional solid figure. Instead, I wanted it to have a visual appearance and touch that felt closer to a human body.

Therefore, I used silicone material for her entire body.

Silicone is the material that I believe comes relatively close to the feeling of human skin. Unlike ordinary solid materials, it does not feel as cold or hard. It allows the surface of the body to look more natural while also creating a touch that feels closer to human skin.

For me, choosing silicone was not simply about changing the material.

What I truly wanted was for Ada Wong to leave the game screen without becoming a lifeless statue. She needed to have a softer physical appearance, and I wanted collectors to notice a clear difference from an ordinary solid figure when viewing her from close range.

I Added a Skeleton Inside Her Body So That She Could Move Freely

To make her body movable, I also added a skeleton inside it.

The addition of the skeleton allows everyone to move her body freely and create different poses according to their personal preferences.

Collectors do not have to accept one fixed pose forever. Instead, they can adjust her according to their own ideas. Some people may prefer to let her sit quietly, while others may want to create a pose that feels closer to the character from the game.

Different body angles allow the same ada wong figure to present a different feeling.

This was exactly the effect I hoped to achieve from the beginning.

I did not want her to remain permanently in one position. I wanted her to change according to each collector’s preferences, and I wanted everyone to understand and display Ada Wong in their own way.

For me, transforming her from a fixed and motionless form into a character whose pose could be freely adjusted was also an important step in allowing her to truly move from the screen into reality.

The Jelly Breast Design Makes Her Body Look More Realistic and Feel Softer

During the production of her body, I also used a jelly breast design for her chest.

The jelly breasts look more realistic and feel very soft to the touch.

I did not want her body to retain the hardness of an ordinary solid figure, so this part of the process was very important to the overall result.

It not only makes the body look more natural but also creates a clear difference in touch when compared with a conventional solid figure.

When I saw the final result of the body for the first time, I felt that Ada Wong, whom I had only been able to see through a screen during my childhood, was gradually approaching the version I had once imagined.

The silicone body, internal skeleton, and jelly breasts were not separate and unrelated design choices.

All of these parts served my original goal: I wanted her to stop being a cold and rigid figure that could only maintain a fixed pose. Instead, I wanted her to become a movable Hentai figure with a soft touch.

Her Face Needed to Make People Think of Ada Wong at First Sight

Although the body structure was very important, I always believed that the face would ultimately determine whether this work could truly be called Ada Wong.

If the face did not resemble Ada Wong, then regardless of the material used for the body or the number of poses it could achieve, the completed work would only look like an ordinary female character.

Therefore, I found a professional sculptor to create the face.

I asked him to sculpt it according to Ada Wong’s face in the game because I wanted to preserve the impression that the character had left on players as closely as possible.

Ada Wong has a very distinctive character image. Her red outfit and short hair are not the only features that make her recognisable. Her face also needs to present the feeling that players remember from the game.

For this reason, the facial sculpt could not be handled casually, nor could we simply use the face of an ordinary woman.

When collectors see this ada wong figure for the first time, I want them to think naturally of Ada Wong from Resident Evil. They should not need an explanation or have to rely only on the clothing to identify her.

This is why I insisted on finding a professional sculptor and asked him to sculpt the face according to Ada Wong’s appearance in the game.

When I was young, I could only wait for her to appear in the game.

After closing the game, I could only remember the character through individual pictures. However, after entering the figure-making industry, I finally had an opportunity to use my work to turn that once-distant idea into a physical object.

To other people, she might simply be an ada wong figure.

To me, however, she feels more like a gift that I created for my childhood self.

That quiet and introverted boy, who did not know how to join the conversations of his classmates, eventually used his chosen career to create the character who had previously existed only in his imagination.

I Never Expected So Many People to Share the Same Memories

What I did not expect was that, after completing the figure, I would receive so much appreciation from Ada Wong fans.

I realised that I was not the only person who had been drawn to this mysterious character.

Many people also encountered Resident Evil during their childhood or teenage years. Ada Wong’s appearances made them more curious about the game’s story as well.

Some people remember her red outfit. Others love her signature short hairstyle, while some have always been curious about the parts of her identity that have never been completely explained.

Some fans, like me, also wanted their favourite character to stop existing only within the images of a game.
