Posing a Silicone Figure

The metal skeleton inside these figures lets the arms, legs and torso hold a new position. Bend each joint a little at a time and stop at a natural limit, because forcing a limb past it can strain the frame and the silicone around it. A doll stand helps with standing or kicking poses that put weight on one leg.

Details That Change the Look

On several models part of the outfit comes off. Ada Wong and Cammy have removable clothing, Aerith comes with two removable outfits, and 2B's blindfold can be taken off for a second expression. Some heads, including Cammy, Hinata and Rei Ayanami, use glass eyes, and hair is either implanted or sculpted from soft rubber depending on the character.

Care After Posing

Return the figure to a relaxed position before storing it so the joints are not under constant tension. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heat, and handle the face and hair with clean, dry hands.

Keeping the Skeleton Dry

When you wash the figure, keep water away from the neck opening. This is where the silicone is poured during production, and there is always a small gap between the metal skeleton and the silicone, so water can get inside and cause the skeleton to rust.
The skeleton is mainly stainless steel, but the screws and joints are not, and even stainless steel can rust if it stays wet for a long time. If water does get in, turn the figure upside down so the water slowly drains out through the neck.
